Human Services Instructor Qualifications (HUS)

General Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Masters degree in the Subject Area plus three (3) years experience in the field of human services.

OR

Masters degree in any field plus Bachelors degree in the Subject Area plus three (3) years experience in the field of human services.

The above list may not be inclusive as there are other degree titles that may be appropriate for the subject areas. The Division Dean, in consultation with the Faculty Department Chair will make a recommendation to the Dean of Instruction about the applicability of a particular degree, coursework, and experience outside the scope of this list and general requirements.

For HUS 102 Mental Health First Aid
  • Must be current full-status certified Adult Mental Health First Aid instructor.
Preferred Qualifications (for all positions)
  1. Masters degree in the Subject area (as recommended by CSHSE National Standards for Associate Degree [http://www.cshse.org/standards.html] Standard 6).
  2. Current Human Services – Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) certification.
  3. Three years of recent experience teaching or training adults.
  4. Experience teaching and supervising field experience/internship courses.
