AD Requirements prior to November 2012

AD Instructor
  • Prior experience: All new instructors will have a minimum of five years of experience working with the addicted population.
  • Education: All new instructors will hold a masters degree in a counseling related discipline, or hold a bachelor’s degree and be a Certified Addiction Counselor Level II (CADC II) or a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS).

  • Master’s degree, mostly likely in Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work.
  • Minimum of five years direct involvement in the field of A & D counseling, experience verification, evidence of specific training (i.e. C.A.D.C.)
  • Possible to permit teaching with a BA (30 Upper division credits plus five years of work experience)
