Instructor Qualifications Prior to November 2025
MP 108: Healthcare Career Essentials
- Bachelor’s degree in a medical, allied health, or applied behavioral science
- Knowledge of career opportunities and requirements in the health field
- Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization
MP 111: Medical Terminology
- Bachelor’s degree in a medical or allied health discipline
- Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization
MP113: Healthcare Provider CPR/AED, First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens
- Degree or certificate from a nationally accredited or state-approved program in
the field of EMT, Paramedic, Nursing, or other healthcare discipline - Required American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor certification
- Completion of AHA Bloodborne Pathogens Training
- Completion of AHA First Aid Training
- Completion of AHA BLS Provider Training
- Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization
MP 135: Pharmacology for Allied Health
- Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacology, or other healthcare discipline
- Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization
MP 140: Intro to Health Law and Ethics
- Bachelor’s Degree in a medical or allied health field or a law degree (Juris Doctor)
- Three (3) years experience in a healthcare facility or organization

Instructor Qualifications Prior to November 2023
General Instructor Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a medical or allied health field with three years’ experience in a health care facility or organization. Prior experience teaching, particularly adult learners.
MP 108
- Bachelor’s Degree in a health discipline, Counseling, Psychology (Clinical, School, Applied, or Educational), Social Work, Applied Behavioral Science, Communications or Education.
- Knowledge of career opportunities and requirements in the health field.
MP113
- Associate’s degree or certificate from a nationally accredited or state approved program in the field of EMT, Paramedic, Nursing or Fire Science
- Required American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor certification.
- Completed Bloodborne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission

- Master’s Degree in pharmaceutical science, pharmacology or other medical or health degree with three years’ experience in a healthcare facility or organization.
MP 140 Health Law and Ethics
- Bachelor’s Degree in a medical or health field or a law degree (Juris Doctor) with three years’ experience in the field of health law, health policy, health services administration or public health.

- Associates degree (or higher) in a medical or allied health field with three years work experience in a health care facility or organization.

- Masters degree (or higher) in pharmacology or other medical allied health degree.
MP 140 Health Law and Ethics
- Associates degree (or higher) in a health field with three years of work experience in the field of health law, health policy, health services administration or public health.
MP 150 Introduction to Electronic Health Records
- Associates degree or higher in Health Informatics, Health Information Technology or Health Information Management plus three years work experience in the field OR
- Associates degree (or higher) in a medical or allied health field with five years of experience in a health care facility or organization using electronic health record applications in their position.

MP 199 Health Law and Ethics

- Associates degree (or higher) in a health field with three years work experience in the field of health law, health policy, or health services administration.
MP 201 Introduction to Electronic Health Records
- Bachelors degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Technology or Health Information Management plus four years work experience in the field.
OR
- Associates degree in Health Informatics, Health Information Technology or Health Information Management plus five years work experience in the field.
OR
- Demonstrated competency:
EITHER
- Bachelors degree in business administration, management, healthcare administration, or information technology, or related field, and
- Four years work experience in the health technology field specific to implementation or utilization of electronic health records (EHR), or
- Four years experience delivering training in electronic health record applications
OR
- Associates degree (or higher) in a medical or allied health field with five years experience in a health care facility or organization using electronic health record applications in their position
