The mothers of the other children came up to me and asked me what I gave their children.

The mothers of the other children came up to me and asked me what I gave their children.

My name is Mariana. I want to tell you my story. I had a bad experience. I went to the park with my grandchildren and I took some cookies for my grandchildren [to eat]. When I wanted to give them the cookies, first I served the other children in the park because in my country it’s not polite for you to eat something in front of other people and not serve them first. I gave the other children the cookies and then I gave some to my grandchildren. After that, the mothers of the other children came up to me and asked me what I gave their children. I was scared. I didn’t understand what happened. I said I gave them cookies. They asked if they could see what I gave the children so I showed them. They told me it was ok but now I know not to give other children food because in this country you don’t share food with children you don’t know. It’s hard sometimes being in a new place. My son helps me but sometimes I make mistakes. This was my story.
