Search E-books

Search ebooks

Look for ebooks in the Library Search. Type in a search term in the “PCC Library & Summit” tab. When the results come back, select those that say “ebooks”.  Click the “View It” tab and follow the link that is offered.

All PCC ebooks can be read on a computer screen. Some can be checked out and downloaded to a mobile device. Most books can be accessed by multiple users at the same time.

EBook Central
Ebook Central is an e-book platform that combines EBL and eBrary in one central location. Browse and check out hundreds of thousands of e-book titles in the sciences, humanities, the arts, business, computer science, engineering, and other academic disciplines. Cambridge STEM eBooks
This eBook collection features approximately 10,000 academic titles in science, technology, engineering, and math.  Coverage is from 1919-Present!

Credo
Provides online versions of 500+ published reference works, including general and specialized dictionaries and encyclopedias. Try the Concept Map to search for terms and topics that are interconnected and displayed in a visual form.

Gale Virtual Reference Library
GVRL is a database of over 200 encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. Look here for biology, chemistry, nursing and medicine, sociology, history, education, law, and more.

EBSCOhost eBooks
PCC library has purchased a small eBook collection from EBSCO. These books may be read on a desktop, laptop, or mobile device using just a browser. No special software or hardware is needed.

OverDrive
PCC Library provides access to a collection of eBooks and streaming audiobooks, both fiction and non-fiction. You can use an internet browser or the Libby app to read ebooks and listen to audiobooks.

Project Gutenberg
More than 53,000 ebooks. Most are older literary works that are in the public domain in the United States.

The Online Books Page
Over two million free books on the web, including Project Gutenberg titles. Site includes the full text of many literary award winners and banned books.

Hathi Trust Digital Library
A searchable digital archive of over 10 million books from major research institutions and libraries, including over 3 million in the public domain.

National Academies Press
Read over 3,000 environment, health, and science books online.
