Requesting Library Materials

This page will explain how to use PCC Library search to request library materials. Items can be requested from a PCC library or from libraries in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Both physical and digital items (e.g. articles or electronic book chapters delivered as PDFs) may be requested.

Requesting library materials

    • Find the item you want using the library search
    • If you are looking for an article, try changing the drop down menu to “Articles” or “Everything”
    • Select the link below the title

  • On the next screen, sign in under the appropriate category.

  • Use the login screen to sign in with your MyPCC username and password.

  • Click on the “Get it” button (for a physical copy or a digital chapter/article request)

  • On the request form, select your preferred pickup location.

  • If your request is for a volume or part of a multiple-part item, please indicate this in the “Volume” field. Example: “Volume 37”. Place one request for each item, volume, or part that you need. Then click the “Send” button
  • A note “The request was successfully submitted” will indicate that the request has been successful.

  • You can return to your search results by clicking the big “X” on the left side of the screen to exit the item record.
  • If your request cannot be filled, an email will be sent to you that your request was canceled.
  • If your request is successful, you will be sent an email letting you know that the materials can be picked up at the requested PCC campus library location in about seven days (physical materials) or delivered to the borrower’s library account in 24 hours (electronic materials).

Status of request

  • Then sign in with a PCC username and password after selecting “PC Students, Faculty, and Staff”.

  • Select “Requests” in the menu under “My Library Account”.

Arrival and pick-up of items

  • A PCC email will notify the requester when the item is available for pick up.
  • Items must be picked up within seven calendar days after they are available.
  • Loan periods vary. See Loan Periods and Fines for more details
  • Important: Do not remove or discard the book bands, stickers, or accompanying page slips from resource sharing items to ensure that returned items are properly returned. There is a $90 fee for items that are lost or damaged.
