Landscape Technology Requirements

also applies to HOR – Horticulture, and CSS – Crop and Soil Science

  • Hold a master’s degree in Horticulture,  Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Biology, Botany, Vocational Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field; and have a minimum of three years of relevant industry experience*, or
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture,  Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Biology, Botany, Vocational Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field and have a minimum of four years of relevant industry experience*, or
  • Hold an associates’ degree in Horticulture,  Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Biology, Botany, Vocational Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field, and have a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience*, or
  • Have a high level of demonstrable competency through a combination of study, teaching experience, professional performance, or through licensing or certification through the Landscape Contractor’s Board, the International Society of Arboriculture, or the Association of Professional Landscape Designers.

*Recent teaching experience at the college level or industry training experience, or a combination of teaching at the college level and industry trainer experience, may be substituted, year for year, for recent relevant industry experience.
