Landscape Technology Requirements

also applies to HOR -- Horticulture, and CSS -- Crop and Soil Science

a.  Hold a master’s degree in Horticulture,  Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Biology, Botany, Vocational Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field; and have a minimum of three years of relevant industry experience*, or

c.  Hold a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture,  Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Biology, Botany, Vocational Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field and have a minimum of four years of relevant industry experience*, or

d. Hold an associates’ degree in in Horticulture,  Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Management, Turf Management, Biology, Botany, Vocational Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field, and have a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience*, or

e. Have a high level of demonstrable competency through a combination of study, teaching experience, professional performance, or through licensing or certification through the Landscape Contractor’s Board, the International Society of Arboriculture, or the Association of Professional Landscape Designers.

*Recent teaching experience at the college level or industry training experience, or a combination of teaching at the college level and industry trainer experience, may be substituted, year for year, for recent relevant industry experience.

LAT 223 (Computation)

College transcript shows completed courses (C or better) in Site Surveying and Analysis (or equivalent), and Math including subjects in algebra, geometry and trigonometry (equivalent or greater); or a licensed Landscape Contractor Professional or Landscape Architect; or 5 years of field experience in landscape contracting and/or landscape design with proof of college transcript coursework.
