Developmental Education Instructor Qualifications
Instructors in the area of Developmental Education must meet one of the following requirements:
- Master’s Degree in an appropriate educational field (for example, special/ developmental/ adult education, reading, writing, math, or English) AND experience working with underprepared students (DE Math or English)
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate educational field (for example, special/ developmental/ adult education, reading, writing, or English) AND three years equivalent full-time teaching experience in reading, writing, or English within grade 9 through adult (DE English)
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Math Education, or an appropriate educational field (for example, special/ developmental/ adult education) with a math emphasis AND three years equivalent full-time teaching experience in mathematics within grade 6 through adult (DE Math)
