Many eBooks are now available to read on your mobile device.
Look for eBooks in the library catalog along with everything else. Type in a search term. When the results come back, go to the "Format" section on the left side of the screen and check the box to the left of "eBook". The results will be updated and only eBooks will display.
All PCC eBooks can be read on a computer screen. Some can be checked out and downloaded to a mobile device. Most books can be accessed by multiple users at the same time.

Gale Virtual Reference Library
GVRL is a database of over 200 encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. Look here for biology, chemistry, nursing and medicine, sociology, history, education, law, and more.
Oxford Reference Online
A collection of dictionaries and other reference books from Oxford University Press. Coverage includes the arts, languages, literature, sciences and social sciences.
Books available freely on the Internet
Project Gutenberg
More than 28,000 e-books. Most are older literary works that are in the public domain in the United States.

Over 35,000 free books on the web, including Project Gutenberg titles. Site includes the full text of many literary award winners and banned books.
Hathi Trust Digital Library
A searchable digital archive of over 10 million books from major research institutions and libraries, including over 3 million in the public domain.
