The Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center is located in urban northeast Portland and is the newest in PCC's arsenal of workforce training centers. Opening in 1998, the center primarily houses programs for people searching for employment and looking for professional development, including the welfare-to-work program and the Dislocated Workers Project.

Also, many times a year the Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center houses job fairs that feature such local companies as Fred Meyer, Providence, Columbia Sportswear, American Red Cross, Oregon State Police and Nationwide Insurance to name a few. It's the type of activity that exemplifies the personal development services the center offers.

The center's main theme is personal improvement to help people get back onto their feet and find employment and the programs leading that charge are the Oregon's Tradeswomen's Network and Dislocated Workers Program. Other programs that are dedicated to getting people into careers include the alternative high school, adult basic education, English as a Second Language, GED, computer training and personal enrichment.
