Kendra reported that the EAC has directed the committee to deal with issues of conflict. The EAC wants to know about such issues, however SACs should be directed to resolve the issues prior to presenting the request to the Curriculum Committee. If the issue is not resolved by the time the Curriculum Committee meets, matters can be referred back for resolution and set over to allow time for resolution. If at the end of a reasonable period of time there has not been an agreed upon solution the committee should hear both sides and make a decision on recommendation.

Jan Abushakrah presented revised requests with new CCOGs for items 173 and 174. Adrian Rodriguez presented the CCOGs submitted by SOC at the previous Curriculum Committee meeting with corresponding CCOGs for CG 209 (Job Finding Skills) and CG140C (Career Development).

The SAC representatives from SOC, Jan Abushakrah, and CG, Catherine Sills and Adrian Rodriguez, left to discuss the issues and new submissions. They returned with the following resolution.

The course designation will be CG 181 and CG 282 instead of SOC. It will allow for the continuance of an identifiable Career Guidance group for the CG SAC and provide the experience needed for the SOC students. The SACs will continue to communicate needs to change CCOGs or content issues. The courses will need to be listed under the Sociology section of the schedule. The Sociology SAC will be the primary driver for course changes.

Due to the change in designation the paperwork will be sent to the Admin support and Dean of Instruction for CG for appropriate signatures.

Doris Werkman moved to recommend items 173 and 174 with the prefix change from SOC to CG incorporating the revisions from the CCOGs dated December 1, 2004. Pam Kessinger seconded and the motion carried.
