Willamette Week Writing and Art Internships

There are few better ways for students to explore the possibility of finding a career in writing and the arts than through internships that give you a taste of these careers and offer you valuable experiences along the way. Willamette Week offers three-month, unpaid internships in writing and the arts throughout the year including:
News reporting internships, which provide opportunities to write for both wweek.com and the print edition.
Arts & Culture writing internships, which offer the opportunity to work with a team of five editors producing the print paper’s food, music, film, theater and books sections as well as blog posts and our special sections.
Photography Internships, which include a wide range of opportunity from the back of the book—music, movies, and food, to the front of the book—news, people, places, and cover stories.
Illustration internships, which provide an opportunity to work for an award-winning local newspaper and grow your portfolio through published experience.
PCC students can earn course credit for participating in these internships and also bolster their resumes. Then, once you’ve done that, contact one of PCC’s Jobs/Interns coordinators, who can help you with your application and facilitate the process. Contact information for those offices is below.
