The Value of Hobbies
Posted by Justin Eslinger
Hobbies are any pursuit, other than your normal occupation, that is done for fun, relaxation, or other personal non-financial enrichment. One of the main benefits of hobbies is their ability to relax and recharge you. This, however, doesn’t imply that they involve sitting or lying around. Many hobbies are quite active, and the relaxation they provide is mental rather than physical. A key factor is that the relevant activities must be enjoyable to you in order to qualify as your hobby.
De-stressing with hobbies doesn’t just make you feel more relaxed. It can improve your performance on your regular job, give you something to talk about with friends and family, help you learn new skills, and improve your decision-making abilities, creativity, and confidence.
