During 2020, the Cascade Urban Learning Garden has remained closed and primarily unmaintained due to the college closure and remote operations. This will continue during 2021 until the college reopens. The learning garden coordinator and assistant are both working remotely and engaging our community in virtual gardening education, food justice, and community based education. See our virtual activities and events. You can also follow us on Instagram and Facebook @pcc_cascade_learning_garden.
In a non-pandemic year, the learning garden relies on the support of work study employees, students, staff, and faculty for the maintenance of the learning garden. Typically, volunteer work parties are held weekly March through October. Volunteers assist with special projects, seasonal planting, harvesting, and maintenance work in the learning garden. During the college closure all volunteer work parties have been suspended and we are not hiring for any other work study positions.
