Pangram AI Detection

Pangram Faculty Support & Resource Guide

What is Pangram?

Pangram is an text analysis tool designed to help instructors identify generated text in student work. The platform scans files to distinguish between original human writing, AI-assisted editing, and fully automated content. It is not perfect, and is being evaluated to see if it can support instructors in the short term while disciplines adapt to new approaches to learning assessment.

What are we evaluating?

  • Usefulness: Does this tool provide a useful resource for faculty in evaluating student work?
  • Institutional Fit: Does this tool fit with our institutional guiding principles about AI?
  • Gaps: What support is missing for orienting students to proper and improper use of Generative AI? What more is needed for instructors?
