Cascade Gallery is pleased to host Talking About the Obvious, two installations that in tandem propel us to contemplate one environment and the interconnectedness of environmental and social justice.

Susan Murrell’s site-responsive mixed media installations conflate the visual vernacular of geology with the built environment. Her installations are infused with color and interject symbols legible to us as those of process and control.

In Molly Alloy’s installation, “Ferguson Water”, the viewer is offered a drink of tap water transported from Ferguson, MO. She employs that water as metaphor, and to create a moment of communion for viewers and their personal reflections on racism.

Talking About the Obvious asks you to contemplate the water we all swim in.
