Fostering Student-Instructor Communication in STEM Classrooms

Summary
Beginning in February, 2024, a Student Disability Advocate convened monthly conversations with students to discuss their experiences, concerns, and strategies for success in STEM classes. She also formed an instructor group to share the students’ feedback, with the goal of fostering more inclusive and empathetic environments based on student/instructor communication. In this session, a panel of students with disabilities will discuss the importance of sharing experiences and communication in STEM classes.
