Parenting* is a dynamic life-long learning process. Parenting Education supports the development of knowledge and skills for successful parenting and family life. PCC’s Parenting Education and Family Life courses support an understanding of child development, observation and interpretation of children’s behavior, family-community partnerships, family lifespan issues, and parent-child relations.

*Parents include all key people who play a central parenting role in a child’s life.

Transferable Credits

PCC does not offer a degree in parent education, however parent education classes are lower division collegiate courses. Credits earned from parent education courses may count as:

  • Elective credits
  • General education credits

Students are encouraged to check with the receiving institution, a PCC academic advisor, and the University Transfer website for the most accurate transfer requirement information.
