Making a difference

The Child and Family Studies Department at PCC provides academic degree and certificate programs for learners interested in a wide variety of careers working with diverse children, families, communities and populations. Our department disciplines include Early Childhood Education (ECE), Family and Human Services (HUS), and Parenting Education and Family Life (HEC).

Early Childhood Education (ECE)

In PCC’s Early Childhood Education program, we offer you the skills you need to succeed in the world of early childhood development, early childhood education centers, preschool programming, infant and toddler care, and family child care programs.

Family and Human Services (HUS)

In PCC’s Family and Human Services program, we prepare you for entry-level human service work in a diversity of environments under the direction of professionals with more education and experience, including social workers, educators, counselors, psychologists, and other specialists.

Parenting Education and Family Life (HEC)

PCC’s Parenting Education and Family Life courses support an understanding of child development, observation and interpretation of children’s behavior, family-community partnerships, family lifespan issues, and parent-child relations.
