Summary
Artificial Intelligence is reshaping cultural imagery, education, and community narratives, raising urgent questions for Chicanx and Latinx communities about representation, spirituality, and cultural integrity. This panel interrogates how AI flattens diverse identities into commodified stereotypes while obscuring Latinx contributions to technological futures. We examine AI as a bordering technology, its cultural and social impacts despite Latinx innovation, and the displacement of sacred rituals like altar‐making and the disruptions of knowledge production and learning as a sacred privilege and responsibility. Attendees will reflect on equity, belonging, and alternative futures where technology supports cultural complexities.
