Summary
This Anderson Conference session introduces SPARC, Sustainability Practices and Resources for Curriculum, and connects faculty with resources for bringing sustainability into their courses. The session highlights tools and support available at PCC for instructors who want to incorporate sustainability topics and perspectives into their curriculum.
Resources shared with participants include the PCC Library Sustainability Curriculum Resource Guide and Climate Anxiety Guide, along with materials that explore connections between sustainability and diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and accessibility. The collection also includes climate justice resources and tools that faculty can use when considering equity within sustainability and climate-related teaching.
The session also connects sustainability curriculum with community-based learning. Faculty can explore resources for developing community-based learning experiences and request one-on-one consultation with a faculty mentor. Participants are encouraged to stay connected with SPARC through its group email list and future meetings.
