Information sessions
Please attend an information session to learn more about careers in veterinary medicine, as well as the Veterinary Technology Program at Portland Community College and how to apply. Sessions are offered at least once per month.
These sessions provide a broad overview of careers in veterinary medicine. This includes the similarities and differences between a veterinarian and veterinary technician in regard to daily job duties, education, and pay. We discuss the breadth of job opportunities and employment settings available to those with a veterinary technician degree, such as animal shelters, research facilities, veterinary clinics, wildlife preserves, and zoos.
We provide an introduction to the program, including the knowledge and experience that students will gain. Lastly, we will go over specific details regarding applying to the Veterinary Technology program at PCC and how to be the most competitive applicant.
