Apply to Nursing Assistant, non-credit training
The Nursing Assistant program accepts up to 40 students each term, although this number is subject to change based on need and program capacity. The application opens on May 18 at 8am. To be considered for fall 2026 admission, all required steps must be completed by 5pm on June 8, 2026. Qualified applicants will be selected using a lottery system in June, and acceptance notifications will be sent via email 1–2 weeks after the selection.
All communications from the PCC Nursing Assistant program will go to your PCC email address, so it’s important that you check your PCC email regularly for program updates and next steps.

Apply to PCC
Applying to PCC is free and only takes a few minutes. Complete this step by May 25, 2026, so you can start using PCC resources.
- Credit applicants: Choose the program and degree or certificate you’re interested in completing. Or if you are only interested in the Nursing Assistant course, then in the “Choose your program” section of the “Enrollment Information” page, select: “Nursing“. Under “Please select the degree or certificate you’d like to complete for your chosen program,” select: “Nursing Assistant Training, Associate of General Studies“.
- Non-credit applicants: In the “Choose your program” section of the “Enrollment Information” page, select: “Nursing“. Under “Please select the degree or certificate you’d like to complete for your chosen program,” select: “Nursing Assistant Training, Associate of General Studies“.
Application timeline

Learn about the program
- Attend an information session, which covers an overview of the career, details about our program, and an in-depth explanation of the application process.
- Meet with an academic advisor through the Advising department or at one of the Opportunity Centers to discuss interest in the program, vaccination and immunization requirements, and commitment prior to applying. If English isn’t your first language, discuss the necessary competency documents that you will need to upload during the application process. Meeting with an advisor is not required, but it is encouraged.

Gather pertinent information
- Make sure your required vaccinations are up to date.
- Decide if you will take the course for credit or non-credit.
- If English isn’t your first language, you’ll need to show proof of English proficiency.

Submit the application
Submit the Nursing Assistant application form that will be linked here starting on May 18, 2026 at 8am. Applications are due by 5pm on June 8, 2026.
- You will select whether you want to take the course as a credit or non-credit student when you submit the application.
After you apply
After the application form closes, applicants who have met the requirements will be selected by a lottery system. 40 students will be selected for acceptance into the program, with 20 students selected for the alternate list.
For students who are accepted:
- Complete the acceptance form: Notifications will be emailed to your PCC email with an acceptance confirmation form, which must be submitted by the due date indicated in the email to confirm a spot in the program or accept an alternate status.
- Attend a mandatory orientation during the week of July 6, 2026:
- What to expect: During orientation, you’ll review your schedule, review key policies and clinical site expectations, as well as connect with faculty and classmates.
- Students will receive assistance to complete their clinical requirements in the DISA platform during orientation. These requirements include a background check, drug screen, uploading vaccination documentation, and completing Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and OSHA compliance online training modules.
- All DISA requirements must be completed by September 7, 2026.
- Students who do not have a current CPR certification that is specific for healthcare providers or Basic Life Support (BLS) providers from an American Heart Association certified instructor (card will say American Heart Association or AHA) will be referred to options to take a course before September 7, 2026.
- Students will receive assistance to complete their clinical requirements in the DISA platform during orientation. These requirements include a background check, drug screen, uploading vaccination documentation, and completing Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and OSHA compliance online training modules.
- Dress code: Students should wear business casual dress to attend the orientation (please avoid ripped jeans, shorts, overly fitted clothing, graphic tees, or tank tops). Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals, crocs, or open-toed shoes allowed).
- What to bring:
- Bring your proof of immunizations and vaccinations with you to the orientation. Failure to do this may result in being deferred to a different term. Deferment means you will need to reapply to a different term and are not guaranteed a spot.
- Government-issued ID and a notebook or laptop
- Students should bring a valid credit/debit card and be prepared to pay for DISA during orientation. DISA fees are $216 per student. Prices are subject to change.
- What to expect: During orientation, you’ll review your schedule, review key policies and clinical site expectations, as well as connect with faculty and classmates.
- Registration: Students who attend the orientation and complete their DISA clinical requirements by September 7, 2026, will be registered for the course.
