PCC cooking classes offer exotic flavors of Thailand

PORTLAND, Ore. – Discover the explosive tastes of Thailand with PCC non-credit cooking classes. This summer, instructor Duane Brown will lead two Thai classes held at the Hollywood Senior Center, 1820 N.E. 40th. Regional Thai Cooking: Central I & II offers an introduction to this savory food with recipes such as phat Thai, leaf-wrapped essence of Thai tastes, chicken soup with Thai ginger and coconut milk, and hot and tangy shrimp salad. The class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, June 21 and 28. Cost is $29 plus a $20 cash food fee to the instructor and a $3 to the Hollywood Senior Center at the first class. Regional Thai Cooking: Central III & IV will feature: hot and sour fish and vegetable soup, stir-fried zucchini, barbecued chicken Bangkok style, chicken in green curry, and hot and sour shrimp soup. This class will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, July 12 and 19. Cost is $29 plus a $20 cash food fee to instructor and $3 to the Hollywood Senior Center at the first class.
