1. Washington County Museum: Moving Volunteers Needed at Rock Creek!

We desperately need help moving our offices, exhibit furniture and even some artifacts into our new storage area, so the front side of our building can be painted and carpeted. The dates we need volunteers are below:

Saturday, May 30th 9am & Monday, June 1st 9am

Pizza will be provided! Our location is on the Rock Creek Campus of PCC, we are the red and gray building toward the front of the campus.

2. Rigler School: Come Join the Carnival!

The Rigler PTA is putting on a carnival to help raise money for the school. We are looking for volunteers to work 45 minute shifts on Friday June, 5th from 5pm until 8pm. Positions include games, booths, set-up, and break down.

3. Volunteers of America Oregon: Serve Summer Lunch to Children In Low-Income Housing

Get involved with providing nutritious meals and positive adult connections for youth in low-income housing who have limited access during the summer break. Receive in exchange one-on-one coaching in an exciting team atmosphere that enables you to build meaningful relationships and gain skills and experience in social work and community engagement.

Assist our summer lunch program anywhere from 2 – 10 hours per week this summer between June 15 th and August 31 st from about 11am – 2pm on weekdays. Tasks involve connecting with the youth we serve while supporting lunch set-up, serving, and clean-up. All you need is a love of children & youth, flexibility, commitment throughout the summer, and the ability to be a positive role model. Two locations available in outer SE and NE Portland.

4. Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District: Groovin’ on the Grass Volunteers Needed!

Would you like to help with one of the biggest annual concert events in the area? If you answered yes and if you are outgoing and enthusiastic with top notch customer service skills, this may be the right opportunity for you. We are anticipating that over 3000 community members will come to celebrate summer at THPRD’s fifth annual Groovin’ on the Grass, headlined by the iconic horns and urban soul of legendary 10-piece ensemble Tower of Power, and featuring Portland jazz trio Boy and Bean.

Date: August 15, 2015
Time: 1:00pm-9:00pm (volunteers will work a 2 hour shift in this time frame)

5. Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District: Summer Concerts in the Park! Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for enthusiastic music-loving volunteers to help with our summer concert series! Enjoy the tunes of local bands, while gaining work experience and helping out the community!

We are recruiting the following volunteer positions: parking lot attendants, greeters/survey takers, & face painters. All volunteers will be trained on their duties, and receive a free event t-shirt, food and beverages!

Events occur in various parks throughout the district on Thursday evenings in the summer. Volunteers are needed from 5:00pm to 8:pm. For more information visit thprd.org/volunteer.

6. CLASS: Internship Position

CLASS (Community-based Learning And Service Sessions) believes education is an avenue to an engaged, supportive community. We develop programs for the community to serve students, and for students to serve the community. We’re seeking interns with an interest in education, supporting youth, teaching and creating curriculum. Join our mission to hold CLASS everywhere! As a CLASS intern you will:

Collect information for courses
Link curriculum to Common Core and Next Generation standards
Create pre-trip classroom experiences
Research workforce and professional fields
Research and document community settings
Meet professionals who share the mission

Interns commit 10 hours or more and work on a flexible schedule. This volunteer position is a great opportunity to get involved in a growing organization.
