When AI chatbots confidently present false information, we often describe the behavior as “hallucination.” Humans find this unsettling because we distinguish between what we know, what we believe, and what we do not know. AI systems do not make those distinctions in the same way. In this hands-on workshop, we will explore why hallucinations occur, learn how to intentionally provoke them, and discuss what students need to understand to use AI thoughtfully, ethically, and critically.
