About us

Bond teamThe Office of Planning and Construction (OPC) helps PCC achieve its academic mission by providing planning, design, construction, and project management services for all of the college’s major capital projects. As stewards of public bond funding, OPC develops and revitalizes PCC facilities to enrich the student experience. This work allows the college to meet the needs of current and future students, ensuring safety, security, longevity, and access for all.

Students are central to the OPC mission–whether we’re developing cutting-edge centers that provide students with hands-on training for the evolving workforce, or creating warm and welcoming environments to collaborate and showcase their work, students are the driving force behind our projects. Our team participates in each phase of this work, from visioning with stakeholders, to completing all stages of construction, including furniture planning, move-in coordination, and signage.

Our commitments

scale balanced Equity

The Office of Planning and Construction is dedicated to fostering equitable access for workers and contractors, while addressing the underutilization of non-traditional workers and disadvantaged business enterprises in our region. Construction projects are managed through an equity lens that examines current disparities, beneficiaries, and opportunities for equitable outcomes. Read more about contracting and workforce equity.

seedling Sustainability

Sustainability is a fundamental design and building criteria for OPC. Bond projects add to the college’s sustainability goals, incorporating building designs informed by project sustainability workshops and building energy modeling. By prioritizing green building, our projects further the college’s focus on strategizing a foundation for sustainability that will ensure consistent and lasting progress.
