Why should you come see a tutor? By working with our friendly, knowledgeable staff and student tutors, you will improve your skills and help yourself succeed!

We offer free, drop-in (no appointment needed) tutoring in all of the subjects below, so stop by at a time that works for you.

English Conversation Groups

Location: Library 144 (SLC Conference room)

Improve your English speaking and listening skills.

  • Mondays from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm with Micheal
  • Tuesdays from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm with Micheal
  • Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 11:00 am with Elise
  • Fridays from 10:00 am – 11:00 am  with Patti

Begins Week 2 and ends the week before finals. Students may join these groups at any time on a drop-in basis. Groups are most appropriate for students at ESOL Level 4 or higher.

English Conversation Partner Program

Location: Library 144 (SLC Conference room)

Meet one-on-one with a conversation partner. Come visit to find out more!

  • If you are a non-native speaker (and a PCC student) who would like to improve your English speaking and listening skills, just drop in to work with a volunteer. Volunteers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the posted schedule in the Student Learning Center.
  • If you would like to volunteer as a Conversation Partner for non-native English speakers, please fill out a volunteer availability form and submit it to Shani Ong.
Math

Location: Library 140 (Student Learning Center)

  • Monday – Thursday: 9am – 7pm
  • Friday – Saturday: 10am – 3pm

Statistics tutoring is offered every hour with the exception of Wednesdays from 5 pm – 7 pm.

Fall 2018 Open Labs

Open Labs are spaces to study with related technology and tools you might need to use. You can use the space to work with groups of friends and classmates, but there may not be a tutor in the room – check the tutoring schedules above for one-on-one tutoring.

Language Lab (American Sign Language, ESOL, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish)

Location: CT 235

  • Monday – Thursday: 8am – 8pm
  • Friday: 9am – 1pm
Physical Science Tutor/Computer Lab:  Chemistry, Physics, Geology and General Science

Location: Heat Plant (HP) 202

This lab also includes 5 Windows OS computers connected to the Internet, with MS Office, Graphical Analysis, LoggerPro, Spartan Molecular Modeling and Odyssey Molecular Tutorial Programs, as well as a printer. In addition, tables are available for independent or group study sessions.

The HP 202 lab opens Wednesday of Week 1 of classes through the Tuesday of Finals Week during the Fall through Spring Terms.

NOTE:  It is not open on any holidays or In-service days throughout the year.
