Welcome to ESOL 20 — Level 2 (CRN 45367) Integrated Skills

Hello, my name is Irene Penaloza. I am your teacher for the ESOL 20: Level 2 evening remote-online class this fall term.   Our first day of class will be on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 6:30 pm.  I will be sending you the Zoom link next week.

We will work together to communicate using your phone, tablet, or computer. We will meet via Zoom on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.  This term, you are required to attend the Zoom meetings since we are not able to meet face to face in the classroom.  The rest of the time you will be working on your own — watching, reading, and listening to grammar videos, doing online exercises, as well as writing in your workbooks.  We will practice conversations and go over the lessons I assign from the textbook and workbook when we have our Zoom meetings.  Don’t worry! We will have fun and learn a lot.

It is important for me to help make it easy for you to understand the unit lessons, be able to do your classwork, and attend the Zoom meetings.  Please let me know right away if you are having problems with getting to the WebEasy page where our weekly assignments will be posted, or if you are having difficulties with the homework.  In addition to having me as your teacher, we will have classroom volunteers to help you practice your speaking-listening skills, as well as help you with the class materials.
