What we will learn this week:  We will continue with Unit 6 “Safety at Work” and continue with our grammar studies.
CASAS POST-TEST (all students) — Week 9 >> Monday 03/04/24 during CALL class; we will do some practice reading comprehension this week.  We will compare Simple Present and Present Continuous tenses, as well as the use of “Have to / Has to.”
Dictation Quiz on Monday, 02/26:  Study these sentences.
  1. She is packing a box.
  2. He is wearing a hard hat.
  3. He is installing cable services.
  4. She is washing a customer’s hair.
  5. He is cutting hedges.

  • (Then,) in your blue book answer the following (wh-) questions:
  1.  What is the story about? (What happens in the story?). — Write at least 5 sentences
  2.  Were the little birds friendly to the tall, skinny blue bird? Why or why not?
  3. How did the story end?
  4. Was it a good ending?  Why or why not?

WRITING: Level 2 Integrated Skills Student Self-Reflection (handout) — Due Week 9 (Monday 03/04)
On a piece of paper:  Please answer the following questions.
  1. How are you doing in Level 2 class this winter?
  2. What have you learned so far?
  3. What do you not still understand in our grammar work?
  4. How are your sentences and paragraph writing?  Are you able to write 6 -8 sentences easily?
  5. Do you think you are ready for Level 3? (Remember it takes at least 2 – 3 times taking Level 2 to go to the next level)
  6. Why do you think you are ready?  Why do you not think you are ready?
