HUS 101 requires LIVE attendance and active participation for weekly remote sessions. Live on-camera engagement required to meet course outcomes.

This course is a survey of the field of human services and will require online research, library research, and personal reflection. Assignments in this class will require students to reflect on contemporary human service events, identify specific issues in human service history, and examine personal motivation for entering the field.  Additionally, students will train and certify in QPR as a part of the course.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The field of human services is intense, dynamic, and emotionally challenging. Course content may bring up strong emotions as well as current, past, and unresolved psychological issues. It is strongly recommended that students enrolled in the HUS program or course seek professional counseling while participating in the program.
