 Hello, Dear Students, Welcome!

Here's a little video introduction about me and what we'll be doing together in class! 

Advanced Reading and Writing Introduction and Tips

This is a fully on-line class! There are no scheduled classes, and you can work on your own time. However, I will have weekly check-in times and can schedule extra time with you.

Here’s a summary about the class and what we will be learning to do. You don’t have to buy anything. 

How class is structured:

  • Weekly reading skill focus
  • Weekly writing skill focus
  • Topics include some civics and history
  • No synchronous class meetings! Work on your own time!
  • Optional check-in times with instructor individual work and support

Work load:

  • Dedicate approximately 6 hours week to class time and assignments
  • Check-in with me for support

Please note: CASAS pre and post testing is required to be eligible for Official GED Exams

Technology

A laptop computer or chromebook with a microphone and reliable internet access can help. 

 

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.

Online Prerequisite | Start Guide for Online Learning

Before you take your first online class at PCC, you must complete the start guide for online learning. The start guide will help you decide if online classes are right for you. Once you complete the start guide, you will be eligible to register for online classes.

The Start Guide is not required for Remote classes but strongly recommended.
