Details about this class

I am Ceci de Valdenebro the instructor for this class.

I am excited for you to take this class in which we will create a community of learners as we explore some key research and reflect on our own practices as educators.

Goals for this course: This is our ED 131 course that will prepare teachers and instructional assistants to work in a standards-based setting. It offers strategies to plan and implement instruction, assess student progress and instructional effectiveness, and re-teach as needed. The course focuses on learning and motivational theories that apply to instructional situations and includes creating and studying activities for specific learning problems.

Online Learning: If you are new to online learning, I highly recommend you take the time to get oriented and review the orientation materials using the following link - PCC's online learning preview as it goes into more detail about being an online learner at PCC. You are also welcome to ask questions by calling /emailing the help desk - 971-722-8200,  especially when there are technical problems. Please also note their contact info in the left bottom corner of this home page!

Zoom Meetings: It is critical that you schedule our meeting times on your calendar as participation is very important. We will meet for 10 weeks on Wednesdays from 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm, and we will do all the assignments during our time together. Our first class is on April 3rd.

Syllabus and course Calendar:  I am sharing the SPRING 2024 - SyllabusED131 and Course Calendar and Assignments - ED 131 SPRING 2024 for your reference.

Technical issues: Contact the student help desk at 971-722-8200.

I look forward to working with you and learning from you this term!

Best,

Ceci de Valdenebro
