This class introduces Microsoft Office 365 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). These programs will also be used to complete assignments related to computer concepts.
The Office 365 suite runs best on a Windows operating system. Microsoft Access does not work on Macintosh or Linux computers so non-Windows users may need to use PCC’s SplashTop program that allows remote access to a campus lab computer.
Students may also go to a campus and use a lab computer just to complete Module 8 on M.S. Access if that works for them.
This is a fully online Web class so there are no set meeting times and you login to do the work when it suits your schedule. However, while there are no late penalties, each week's work is due the following Monday.
It would be nice to have live some Zoom meetings so that we can get to know each other, but this is optional. Feel free to contact me during the course to request a Zoom meeting for help as needed. At a minimum, email me with questions or post to the Ask Me discussion.
Technology
- Meets the technology Requirements for taking an online course at PCC
- A recommended Internet Browser installed
- Ability to use Google Drive and Google Docs
- Ability to install or access Microsoft Office 2019 programs which can be obtained for free through PCC’s Microsoft Office 365 for Education licensing
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
