BIT201 Immunochemical Methods
Introduces the general properties and uses of antibody molecules. Includes an overview of immune responses, biosynthesis of immunoglobulin, obtaining, purifying and labeling antibodies, and using antibodies in a variety of common applications (ELISA, western blot, immunoprecipitation and immunocytochemistry, antibody-based affinity chromatography). Prerequisite: BIT 109 or instructor permission. Audit available. (See course content and outcomes.)
