Technology

Technology Requirement for Document Creation

This course requires students to create and design professional documents using Microsoft Word. For this reason, a PC desktop or laptop using the full desktop version of Microsoft Word is recommended.

It is understood that some students may be using a Mac. A MacBook with the desktop version of Microsoft Word can be used for this course; however, students should be aware that the macOS version of Word may not support all of the formatting, design, and advanced layout features required for assignments. Because of these limitations, Mac users may encounter challenges completing some tasks exactly as instructed.

Devices such as Chromebooks, iPads, and iPhones rely on mobile or limited versions of Word and are not recommended for this course, as they do not support required features.

Students are responsible for ensuring they have access to an appropriate device for coursework.

Mac Users: To ensure full access to required Word features, Mac users are strongly encouraged to have access to a PC. If a PC is not available, Mac users should use a dual-boot system (Partition) that runs a Windows operating system or access Word through PCC Splashtop. Without Partition or Splashtop, some required features may not be available. Mac users who need Splashtop access must notify their instructor as soon as possible so an IT request can be submitted. For more information on Splashtop, click the link below.
