Registered apprenticeship cost estimates
The following is a breakdown of the approximate costs associated with employer sponsorship of an apprentice registered with each of the registered apprenticeship programs administered by PCC. Total costs will depend on how long an apprentice is in their program. Expenses* assume 40 hours per week of eligible on-the-job training and passing grades in every course. Deviations from the proscribed curriculum or work schedule may result in additional expenses.
Administrative fees
$75 per apprentice per month
The administrative fee covers all expenses associated with processing apprentice applications and managing apprentice progress through the program. The fee is charged monthly through the JATC and billed quarterly by PCC to employers each month that an apprentice is registered to the Committee.
Tuition and fees
Employer subsidy of apprentice school expenses is strongly recommended but is not required. Arrangement for payment of these expenses is made by independent arrangement between the apprentice and their employer and can vary greatly.
Tuition: $143 per credit hour. Apprentice classes range from 1-4 credits per term. Apprentices take one class per term, year-round for 4 terms plus an 8-hr safety class ($25 fee).
College fees: $50 per term (approx.) actual cost will vary by credit hours.
Parking: $50 per term.
