Instructor: Zrinka Glavas

Zrinka GlavasZrinka Glavas, MEd, MSs, CNS, is a clinician-educator with a multidisciplinary background in functional nutrition, traditional medicine, and research. She holds a Master of Education from the University of Zagreb, Croatia, and a Master of Science in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based nutrition and integrative health.

Zrinka currently serves as Lead Instructor for the Functional Nutrition Program at Portland Community College’s Institute of Health Professionals, where she teaches Holistic Nutritional Therapy, Research and Evidence-Based Practice, and the Capstone modules. She is also Adjunct Faculty at the National University of Natural Medicine, a clinician, and a researcher.

Over the past 20 years, Zrinka has worked across a range of settings, including educational organizations, research institutions, and integrative pharmacies. She has served as a national educator for a Canadian tea company and worked as a nutritionist and herbalist in some of the largest integrative pharmacies in Western Canada and the U.S. Her research experience includes an NIH-funded study on metabolic syndrome and epigenetics at the Institute of Anthropological Research in Croatia, as well as clinical research at TrueNorth Health, where she researched dietary adherence and the effects a whole-food diet has on health outcomes.

Board-certified as a Clinical Nutrition Specialist by the American Nutrition Association, Zrinka has maintained a private clinical practice for nearly a decade. Through her clinical practice, Sustainable Nutrition, her passion lies in regenerative nutrition and sustainable dietary patterns.

Across every endeavor, Zrinka blends functional nutrition, herbal medicine, traditional healing systems, and rigorous scientific inquiry – an interdisciplinary approach that aims to consistently elevate health outcomes and sets a high bar for professional excellence.
