Rep. Kotek slates town hall

Photos and story by

The Legislature is likely to wrap up this week – or not, depending on the kerfuffle over the K-12 budget and the governor’s veto. Meanwhile, Rep. Tina Kotek, whose district is in the Cascade Campus vicinity, is planning two more town halls.

The event is set for 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, at the Historic Kenton Firehouse, 2209 N. Schofield St., Portland.

The event will be here wrap-up for this, her sophomore season in the House. Rep. Kotek had a good session, despite the economic turmoil, most notably pushing through a bill that will require chain restaurants throughout Oregon to display calorie counts on their menus.

This would be a good time to hear a gifted young legislator’s take on this difficult session, and to find out her plans for the interim and the supplemental legislative session, tentatively slated for February 2010.
