?Throw a pot' in Southeast Center's new pottery studio

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College’s new Southeast Center comes with more than just new classrooms. A state-of-the-art pottery studio beckons local residents to come and try their hands at clay formation.This spring, take Basic Clay Techniques at the Southeast Center pottery studio. The non-credit class features a range of possibilities for working with clay through demonstrations and individual hands-on instruction. Professional clay artist Robert Larson will teach you to use the wheel and slab roller, experiment with glazes and more."Even if you’ve never thought about giving pottery a whirl, this class will teach you to create simple projects that look like works of art,"said Julie Wolleck, PCC Community Education manager. "The new studio makes you feel like a professional potter."The ten-week class will meet Saturdays, April 3 through June 5. Students have a choice of either a morning or afternoon class. The times are 9 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. in Room 134 of Mt. Tabor Hall of PCC’s Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $125.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-788-6265.
