PCC Spanish Course to Teach Latino Culture

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Portland Community College has an exciting spring class for teachers and individuals that work with the Hispanic/Latino communities. Spanish Culture and Language, led by instructor Ignacio Mares, will help students learn how to speak Spanish and understand the Hispanic cultures of Mexico and South America. There will be role-playing, books and information from the Internet offered during this 10-week course. The non-credit class will run 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday between April 5 and June 7 in room S236 at Century High School, located at 2000 S.W. 234th Ave. The cost is $63. Some knowledge of the Spanish language is required and students need to purchase the book, "Spanish Now!,"Volume 1. For more information, contact Community Education at 503-533-2708.
