Media release

When taking someone’s photograph, capturing them on film, or using their story or likeness in a project for Portland Community College, it is required to ask your subjects to sign a media release form, per Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

When photographing or capturing video of a minor, a media release form must be signed by a legal guardian. Additionally, It is not necessary to collect media release forms from someone who is in a public place or crowded scene where no prominent person is being featured (such as events).

For media and public relations inquiries, please reach out to our Office of Public Relations and Communications.

If you have questions, need assistance, or need more information regarding the media release or its use, please contact the Marketing Department.
