Online Onboarding Course

Screenshot of MyCareer@PCC entry for the New Employee Onboarding courseThe New Employee Online Onboarding course is mandatory and contains a series of trainings on PCC’s different organizational policies which are vital to an employee’s understanding of their role at the college. The course is automatically assigned to all new staff and faculty, including student employees, in MyCareer@PCC. The course is a piece of the overall new hire experience, and does not replace the hiring department’s responsibilities.

Note: Employees who are returning after a 12 month or longer hiatus and/or have been rehired after termination of employment, must also complete the course.

The new employee will receive an email and will also see the onboarding curriculum in their “My Actions” box on the welcome page of MyCareer@PCC with a due date of 60 days after the date of assignment.

Feedback

We want to hear from our employees! We have included surveys asking for input regarding the learner’s experience for each of the required trainings in the course.

An evaluation of the course is included at the end of the onboarding trainings so we can take stock and measure the success of the onboarding course for our new hires. The evaluation is available only after the course has been completed.

Note: If you have any generic questions about the content or if you’re having technical difficulties, please reach out to the Inclusive Learning Team at inclusivelearning@pcc.edu. For learners using accessibility-related technologies: if you are experiencing issues, please contact the Access Tech Team at access-tech-group@pcc.edu or by calling 971-722-TECH (971-722-8324).

This is a required training for all new employees (this includes casual employees and part-time faculty). It is incumbent upon managers to ensure that their new direct reports complete the content in the onboarding curriculum.
