This painting was made to help visualize hysteria. I painted water falling heavily in the background, which also connected with the figure in the forefront to emphasize the heaviness of emotions in the scene. I wanted to paint a smile on the figure's face with their eyes in their hands to show their battle between real life and delusion, breaking their reality.
