For this project we were assigned to carve anything we wanted from stone. I chose Alabaster stone becuase it is strong and heavy. I carved a brain out of the stone and then carved out some holes to put little hooks into it so I could tie the fishing line to the hooks and then the other end to the metal sheeting. I drilled the metal sheets to two pieces of wood and then used special glue to attach the mirror to the same wood pieces. This piece is very important to me because shortly before I started this class my friend took her life so I decided to dedicate this piece to the "What If's" that come after loosing someone especailly to something like suicide where your mind goes crazy (the fishing line all over) with thoughts of what you could have done. The mirror is there becuase when you look at the piece you can see yourself and relate it back to yourself no matter who you are or your situation. "What If's" come with so many different experiences it can be as simple as what if I said something different.
