Curriculum Timelines for 2027-2028

In order to be published in the 2027-28 catalog and fall 2027 through summer 2028 course schedule, the following deadlines must be met:

Items: Program dean must approve in CourseLeaf by:
  • New Program Pre-Approval form, followed by the DACUM (Developing a Curriculum) process, before entering anything in CourseLeaf
End of spring term 2025
  • New CTE course proposals
  • Courses with credit change
Wednesday, October 7, 2026
  • New degree and certificate proposals that were pre-approved by the end of Spring, 2025
  • Existing programs with 30% or more change
Wednesday, October 21, 2026
  • New LDC course proposals
  • Revisions to existing courses (other than credit changes)
  • Gen Ed designation – SAC must consult with DSAC lead no later than November 6, 2026
Wednesday, December 2, 2026
  • Revisions to existing degrees/certificates, including:
    • Adding new CTE courses to existing AAS degrees and/or certificates
    • Removing inactivated courses from existing degrees and/or certificates; connect with curriculum office with questions on how to phase out courses for lowest student impact
    • Adding new and/or edit existing elective lists
    • Updating program academic prerequisites, academic requirements, non-academic prerequisites, and non-academic requirements, if applicable
Wednesday, December 9, 2026

Courses added or revised and subsequently approved after the stated deadlines will be included in the 2028-29 academic catalog. All items for the 2027-28 academic year must be approved by the end of the February Curriculum Committee and Degrees and Certificates Committee meetings, respectively.
