CBL Designation

Faculty incorporating a CBL project/assignment should register their CRNs with the CBL Program for designation before the start of the term.

Initial Registration

Complete Initial Registration

Initial registration is for instructors who are teaching a course with a community-based learning (CBL) project/assignment for the first time. Instructors who are considering incorporating CBL may also register to receive support from the CBL Program.

Once registration is approved:

  • Instructors will be notified that their CRN(s) have been sync’d with GivePulse & offered support to complete GivePulse set up.
  • Students will be able to complete Risk Management forms online – Liability Waiver and Learning Agreements
  • Students and/or instructors can track community engagement by adding impacts in GivePulse

Update for Current Term

Find and Update Your Course

Please note, a new registration form is being used as of Summer 2025. If you submitted a registration prior to Summer 2025, you will need to complete the initial registration.

Instructors can edit their initial response and make any changes to reflect the current term and/or their current CBL project/assignment needs.

The CBL Course Catalog lists all the courses and instructors on file with the CBL Program. Instructors can click on the editing icon next to their course listing. Please contact the CBL Program if there are corrections needed and for further support.

By registering with the Community-Based Learning Program:

  • Instructors and students will have access to tools to search for community engagement opportunities and connect with community partners.
  • Community Partners will receive support that addresses the needs they have identified.
  • Instructors and students can receive support specific to their assignments/projects
  • Students will have access to their Transcript for Community Engagement as they add their impacts.
  • Students will be eligible for awards and recognition through the Community-Based Learning Program

How to check if your course is designated as CBL

  1. Navigate to PCC.GivePulse.com and log in.
  2. In the top right corner, click “My Activity”,
  3. From that drop-down menu, click “Classes” (If you do not see this menu option, none of your courses are designated as CBL)

Any courses you are teaching with a CBL component will be listed. If you do not see your course, please complete the CBL Course CRN(s) Registration for the specific term (see above for links).
