Metro Parks & Nature: Help collect data to support the trails you love!

Volunteer Opportunities Newsletter

Are you interested in exploring the regional trail system, getting hands-on experience in survey methods, and learning how data affects policy?

Each September, volunteers from throughout the region gather along trails to count and survey people biking and walking on the Intertwine- the greater Portland region’s systems of trails, parks, and natural areas.

This is a great opportunity for students that want to explore the regional trail system, get hands-on experience in survey methods, and learning how data affects policy.

It is fun and easy, and the data will help provide more choices for people to get around on foot, bike, wheelchairs, and other non-motorized options. The time commitment can be as low as just two hours!
