Friends of Trees: Volunteers Needed to Plant with Friends of Trees!

Posted by

Volunteer Opportunities Newsletter

Friends of Trees will be kicking off our 2017-2018 planting season with multiple events in the month of October.

If you have heard the call to make a positive impact in your local community and you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, we invite you to join us at one or all of our events in October!

At each event, you will be supplied with breakfast treats & hot coffee/chocolate, gloves, tools, and guidance on how to properly plant trees. We ask that you come prepared for the work and the weather: sturdy, closed-toe shoes, rain-proof layers, and a hat are all recommended.

All events run from 9:00a-1:00p and we ask that volunteers arrive by 8:45a to be assigned to a crew. Planting starts promptly at 9:00a and we usually finish up by 12:30p-1:00p.

Upcoming Event:

  • Saturday, Oct 21st: Jackson Bottom Wetlands, 2600 SW Hillsboro Hwy, Hillsboro, OR

Hope to see you out there! Questions can be directed to Pablo or Jenny at volunteer@friendsoftrees.org

About the Volunteer Opportunities Newsletter

The Volunteer Opportunities Newsletter allows students, faculty, and staff at PCC a more comprehensive look at volunteer needs and opportunities from our community partners. Our hope is that the newsletter will allow subscribers to stay better informed about community service opportunities in the tri-county areas of Portland, Oregon, as well as non-profit internships and scholarships available locally and nationally.
