El Programa Hispano Catolico: Seeking Spanish-speakers – no experience necessary – to help the low income community!

Posted by

El Programa Hispano Católico in Gresham provides a wide array of social services to low-income Latinos including free tax preparation, providing vulnerable taxpayers a trustworthy alternative to unlicensed tax preparers and to paying to prepare their basic tax returns. Last season our volunteers helped more than 1,000 taxpayers secure over $2 million in refunds. Volunteers do not need prior tax knowledge, we provide the free training!

We are seeking bilingual individuals to volunteer as tax preparers, intake assistants and interpreters 5 hours per week during tax season (January 24th to April 17th). Evening/weekend shifts available. Our tax program is completely volunteer-based—the more volunteers we receive the more low-income taxpayers we are able to help! Orientations provided throughout November and December, free trainings in December and January. Trainings tend to fill up, contact us soon to secure your place. We look forward to hearing from you!
